Brief
As a Senior Graphic Designer at HNTB Corporation, I create client-facing proposals and marketing communications for major infrastructure and transportation projects. I transform complex technical content into clear, compelling visual narratives through strategic layouts, information hierarchy, and customized graphics. My work includes complete proposal documents, presentations, charts, infographics, diagrams, logos, icons, environmental graphics, and event materials. I have also designed a wide range of communications for WTS, including visual materials for its annual year-end gala. Across every project, I collaborate with marketers, engineers, and technical teams to communicate information clearly while maintaining a polished and consistent brand experience.

VTA BART Silicon Valley Phase II
This complex proposal was developed over two and a half years for VTA’s BART Silicon Valley Phase II Program Management Services opportunity. During that time, the deadline was extended multiple times, the lead engineer changed twice, and the proposal underwent extensive revisions as schedules, technical content, and team direction evolved. I used VTA’s blue and orange color palette to create a cohesive visual system throughout the document. Because the technical content was critical to communicating the team’s value, I developed structured layouts, timelines, charts, process diagrams, and color-coded elements to make the team’s qualifications, strategies, schedules, and approach clear and easy to navigate.

VTA Wildlife Crossings
This proposal was developed for VTA’s US 101/Monterey Road Wildlife Crossings project, which required the team to communicate complex environmental, technical, and project-delivery information. Rather than using the rigid visual language often seen in infrastructure proposals, we created a playful, approachable, and nature-forward experience that reflected the project’s purpose. A green color palette, leaf imagery, custom illustrations, layered photography, maps, and infographics transformed the project’s ecological context, site considerations, and technical approach into a clear visual narrative, demonstrating why our team was well suited to deliver a successful wildlife-crossing solution.

OCTA SR-91 Improvements
This proposal concept was developed for OCTA’s State Route 91 Improvement Project between Acacia Street and La Palma Avenue. As the proposal designer, I developed the visual concept and completed the design across the document. Inspired by the points where freeways intersect and connect, I used overlapping circular forms to represent the project’s interconnected northbound and southbound corridors. OCTA’s orange and blue served as the primary color palette, aligning the proposal with the client’s visual identity while creating a cohesive system across covers, section dividers, page layouts, maps, charts, and other technical content. The resulting design translated a key characteristic of the project into a clear and consistent visual narrative throughout the proposal.

OCTA I-5 Improvements
This proposal was developed for OCTA’s Construction Management Support Services contract for the Interstate 5 Improvement Project between Interstate 405 and Yale Avenue. As the lead proposal designer, I established the overall visual direction and developed a cohesive design system using a palette of blue, green, and purple. Layered geometric forms, corridor-inspired linework, project photography, and clear typographic hierarchy created a sense of movement and connectivity while presenting the project and the team’s approach in a polished, organized, and visually engaging format.

Metro Supplemental Engineering Services
This large-scale proposal was developed for Metro’s Supplemental Engineering Services for Capital Improvement Projects contract, which HNTB successfully won. I led the initial design phase, establishing the creative direction, visual concept, color palette, page architecture, and background graphic system. When I was reassigned to lead the BART Silicon Valley Phase II proposal, the project transitioned to another designer for continued development and final production. My original visual concept and background design remained central to the completed proposal, providing a cohesive foundation for organizing extensive technical content, project experience, maps, and team qualifications.

Metro Shared Mobility and ITS Services
This proposal concept was developed for Metro’s Shared Mobility Intelligent Transportation Systems On-Call Services opportunity. As the lead proposal designer, I established the overall visual direction and collaborated closely with the project’s marketing lead, who also contributed to the design development. Together, we translated the pursuit strategy into a cohesive visual system combining a sophisticated blue, gold, and teal palette with angular forms, transportation photography, and technology-focused imagery. Structured layouts, information graphics, project examples, and organizational diagrams made the team’s qualifications and complex technical content clear and accessible. Although the pursuit was ultimately designated as a no-go, the project demonstrates the strong visual foundation and flexible design system developed during the pursuit phase.

Metro Eastside Transit Corridor Phase 2
This proposal concept was developed for Metro’s Eastside Transit Corridor Phase 2 Project. As the lead proposal designer, I established the creative direction and completed all design development in response to the team’s request for a bold visual approach that celebrated Metro’s vibrant color palette. I created multiple cover concepts using colorful transit-inspired linework, layered photography, geometric framing, and strong typography to communicate movement, connectivity, and the character of the Eastside community. The design received positive feedback from the pursuit team, but the opportunity was ultimately designated as a no-go before submission.
